SLO is a symphony orchestra, conductor Rick Taylor, whose members are amateur musicians living on the Isle of Skye and neighbouring mainland around the shores of Loch Alsh.
The orchestra (or "SLO") gives concerts around the region in the
spring and just before Christmas, rehearsing approximately fortnightly
in the term leading up to each.
There is also Skye & Lochalsh Schools' Orchestra. Drawn from the area's Primary and Secondary Schools, these thirty or so talented young string players have their sights firmly set on a place in the main orchestra.
